Composition : Tablet : Nalidixic Acid BP 500 mg.

Suspension: Nalidixic Acid BP 300 mg / 5 ml.

Indications : Shigellosis, Salmonellosis, Acute and chronic urinary tract infections.

Dosage & Administration : Adults : 2 tablets (1 g) in every 6 hours for 7 days; the dose is reduced in chronic infections to 1 tablet (500 mg) every 6 hours.

Children : Children over three months of age initial therapy is 55 mg / kg body weight / day, administered in 4 equally divided doses. For prolonged therapy, the total daily dose may be reduced to 33 mg / kg body weight /day.
